Cameron "Cam" Whitfield
Brisbane-based iGaming reviewer. Twelve years in the industry, four of them on the floor as a pit boss at The Star Sydney before moving online in 2017. I write what I'd want to read before depositing.

Background
I grew up in Toowoomba and moved down to the Gold Coast for university, where I read accounting at Bond — the day-job that paid the rent while I started reviewing online pokies as a weekend hobby in 2013. The plan was never to make a career of it. Casino floors had other plans.
I joined The Star Sydney in late 2013 as a pit-boss-in-training on the blackjack and baccarat tables. Four years inside a real Australian casino taught me more about responsible gaming, dispute handling and the small print of bonus terms than any review site ever could. I worked the high-roller rooms during Chinese New Year, the Friday-night midi-pit through some memorable bachelor parties, and a three-month stint training new dealers on procedure.
In 2017 I left the floor to write full-time. I've been freelance ever since, covering AU-facing operators for affiliate sites, contributing analysis to two iGaming trade publications, and consulting on responsible-gaming UX for one smaller Aussie-facing brand. This site is one of my reviewer projects — independent, ad-supported through affiliate links, but editorially mine.
What I cover here
Every page on this site is something I'd want to read myself before depositing real money at a casino I didn't know. That means honest pros and cons, real banking timings rather than marketing claims, and the small print laid out in language an actual Aussie player will understand. If a bonus looks too good to be true, I say so. If the wagering is high but reasonable for the size of the offer, I say that too.
I don't get paid more for positive reviews. The affiliate revenue is the same whether I score a casino 4.7 or 2.3 — what changes is how many readers click through, and readers click through when the review is useful, not when it's flattering. Long-term, my interests and my readers' interests are the same.
Areas I focus on
- Australian banking — PayID, POLi, Neosurf, and the Aussie bank-account quirks that affect withdrawals.
- Bonus mathematics — turnover, wagering, expected value, and the trap-doors in T&Cs.
- Provider catalogues — who carries which pokies, how RTP varies between operators, where the lobby filters work.
- Mobile experience — PWAs, performance on Aussie 4G/5G networks, battery and data usage.
- Responsible gaming — limits, self-exclusion, BetStop, Gambling Help Online resources, and how I personally pace sessions.
- KYC and security — what to submit, what to refuse, when to escalate.
Credentials
I hold the Australasian Gaming Council's RG (Responsible Gambling) practitioner certificate, completed in 2019 and refreshed in 2024. I'm a member of the AGRC and follow the AGRA Code of Conduct for casino reviewers. I'm not a financial adviser, lawyer or therapist — anything on this site is one player's opinion based on hands-on testing, not professional advice.

Off the clock
I live in the inner Brisbane suburbs with my partner and two kids (one of each, both old enough to think Dad's career is "weird"). I'm a Brisbane Broncos tragic, an indifferent surf-caster on the Gold Coast when the family can be talked into a weekend, and someone who's promised to learn to brew his own beer for the last six years without ever actually doing it.
If you want to reach me on something I've written, the contact page has the email. I read every message; I don't reply to every one, but I read them.
